Nov 20, 2014: The first- phase of India’s largest private entrance test LPU National Eligibility & Scholarship Test (LPU NEST)-2015 commenced at LPU Campus today. Considered as the overall 5th largest entrance test in the government (Centre & State) as well as private sectors, the three-day phase of the test will last up to 22nd November 2014. More than 20,000 school students are appearing for the coveted test, and also participating in numerous events to explore in their talents under ‘Explorica’ program. In the next two phases of ‘LPU NEST- 2015’many Lac students are expected to appear. These phases will be on the school campuses and through online mode. The deserving students will also be awarded with scholarship up to Rs 5 Lakh per student. The participating students, teachers and schools in the events of‘Explorica’ will also be awarded with prizes and certificates.
LPU National Eligibility & Scholarship Test (LPU NEST)-2015 has emerged as a prestigious entrance and scholarship test among student community. It is highlighting that last year more than 3 Lac students had registered in the LPU NEST 2014 test. As such, after Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) and Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), Andhra Pradesh for 2014; this test became the 5th largest entrance test in the country.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal informed: “In order to revitalize India’s potential for intellectual leadership and national progress, we have embarked on an ambitious journey of nourishing young minds right from their school days. Moreover, realizing our social responsibility we also want that no student should be deprived of quality education due to lack of money or on other grounds. So we have LPU NEST test for students from all over India not only to get entry to the programs but also to be benefitted with coveted scholarships. On these lines, we have awarded scholarships of more than Rupees 300 Crore to the deserving students so far.” Mr Mittal further informed: “This year we have added another feature to the initial ‘on campus phase’ of the LPU NEST test in the form of ‘Explorica’ program. This program is sure to broaden the vision of school students as well as their teachers. This is in consonance with our multipronged strategy to revitalize education at all levels- starting with schools. This endeavour is to nurture students, empower teachers & enlighten the society.”
Under specially devised ‘Explorica’, 100+ exhibits by LPU students; BSF, CRPF & other allied Defence-Services; prestigious International Automobile agencies, Food carnival; Career counseling session & assessment test; and, short workshops are also organized to broaden the vision of school students and teachers. The ‘WeST’- a workshop is being organized for school teachers on e-learning & smart teaching contest for best teaching practices. For students there are near hundred competitive events in the literary, fine arts and performing arts.
