Nov 19, 2014: Salman Khan’s loving sister Arpita Khan got married to beau Aayush Sharma in a grand ceremony at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad in the attendance of close family members and friends.
Arpita and Aayush exchanged rings and then the bride and the groom exchanged garlands. The wedding took place in Punjabi Hindu rituals. Parents Salim Khan, mother Salma Khan & Helen were near Arpita on stage when she exchanged the rings while Aayush’s parents were seated near him. All the gents put on pagdi.
Arpita looked like a perfect bride. The blushing bride wore an Abu-Sandeep wedding trousseau. It was a heavily embroidered red lehenga and Aayush donned a sherwani and sehra. The two looked perfect groom & bride.
Bhai Salman Khan was on the stage throughout the rituals. He sports a golden pagdi with black pathani. Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, Sania Mirza, Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora Khan, Alvira Khan and Kabir Khan are all present at the wedding venue.
The ‘baraat’ came around 4.30 p.m. in the heritage hotel located in the old city area. Father Salim Khan, mother Salma, brothers Arbaaz, Sohail, Salman and other family members welcomed the baraat. The ‘baraat’ included horses and two bands, one from Delhi and one from Hyderabad. 250 guests including businessman, bureaucrats and film stars invited for the wedding. Tight security was provided around the palace.
It was followed by the jaimala and pheras. Singer Mika Singh performed at the wedding and Salman joined the stage with his brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan. Aamir also joined the Khans on stage when Saleem Khan took the microphone. Among the ladies, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina dazzled in their outfits. PeeCee wore an Abu-Sandeep saree.
The wedding cake weighed 150 kgs and a team of 7 people made it in a span of 3 days. It’s certainly the most lavish cake we’ve ever seen at a celeb wedding!
Though Arpita was really happy on being Mrs Sharma, but at the same time there were tears all over during her bidaai from the Khan family.
